There are only twelve M134 miniguns in the US that are legal to be owned by a private citizen. Unless the 1986 FOPA law is repealed, those are the only 12 that can ever be owned by private citizens. Obviously it’s rare for one of those 12 owners to put their precious minigun up for sale.
Why is the M134 called a minigun?
The reasons Miniguns are called “Mini” guns is because they came after the introduction of the 20mm M61 Vulcan and compared to the 20x102mm cartridge the Vulcan fired the Minigun’s 7.62x51mm cartridge was miniscule resulting in a much smaller gun.
